Indonesian dangdut musician, actor, and politician. He was the self-proclaimed King of Dangdut and played with the band Soneta.
His first band was called Gayhand, and they played popular Western music like The Beatles. He went on to play Indonesian pop as well.
His album, Begadang, was ranked #11 on Rolling Stone Indonesia's 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time list.
He was born and raised in Indonesia.
He has stated that his music is influenced by the guitar stylings of Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple.
