MLB outfielder who began his career with the Seattle Mariners in 1996. He was named to his first All-Star game in 2009 as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies.
He moved to Miami as a child and played catcher before moving to the outfield.
He played for the New York Yankees during the 2012 season and helped lead the team to the ALCS where they were swept by the Detroit Tigers.
He had five children with his wife Teryvette.
In a 2011 poll between MLB players, he placed second to All-Star slugger Jim Thome in a vote for the nicest guy in baseball.
