Ramadevi Choudhury

Women's freedom fighter and social reformer who was also called Ma Rama Devi for her leadership during the freedom movement in India.
She was influenced and inspired by her uncle's nationalism and the philosophies of Sri Aurobindo.
She attended the first public meeting for Oriya women on March 23rd, 1921, which was led by Gandhi.
She was the daughter of Gopal Ballav Das and the niece of Utkal Gaurab Madhusudan Das. She married Gopabandhu Choudhury at age fifteen.
She was directly involved in the Indian Independence Movement that Mahatma Gandhi led.
