Folk Singer
Known for his unique melding of the Americana, blues, folk, ragtime, swing, and jazz genres, this vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, and mandolin player created a self titled touring band and also released several solo albums and performed with a group called South City Three. His acclaimed recordings include Riverboat Soul and Middle of Everywhere.
After finishing his studies at Illinois' University High School, he performed throughout the United States and eventually released Marmalade, his debut solo album.
In 2010 and 2011, he received two consecutive Independent Music Awards in the 'Best Americana Album' category.
Born Andrew Heissler, he grew up in Bloomington and Normal, Illinois, and later settled in St. Louis, Missouri.
He and fellow Americana musician Gillian Welch both performed with Old Crow Medicine Show.
