Olympic equestrian rider specializing in eventing. She become the first person in history to win the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing, which entails consecutive wins at Kentucky, Badminton and Burghley.
She took her first horse, Sir Barnaby, from pony club level to the prestigious Badminton event.
She was the first woman to become the number one-ranked eventing rider, and after retiring from the sport, wrote a series of pony-related children's books.
She married William Funnell, an international show jumper himself.
