He won his first major race at the 2006 Samsung Super League Nations Cup in Falsterbo, Sweden.
He bowed out of the 2008 Olympics in a large scandal in which it was discovered that his horse had been given banned substances.
He was born in Kildare, Ireland.
At the 2008 Olympics he competed against John Whitaker.
