Known for his all-around offensive skills, he made his NHL debut in 1990 with the Vancouver Canucks and won a silver medal for Canada at the 1994 Olympics.
He played for the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League.
From 1998-2004, he played for the New York Rangers.
He was born in Liberec, Czechoslovakia.
Left winger Adam Graves was his teammate on the Rangers.
