Successful fashion businessman who founded the international brand, Perry Ellis International.
In 1976, he created a female sportswear clothing line called Portfolio for his employer.
Posthumously, he was awarded a Star on the Fashion Walk of Fame in Manhattan.
In 1986, he tragically passed away from AIDS-related complications.
He attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Virginia; the school was named after the twenty-eighth U.S. President.
