He debuted as an actor when he was five years old. He had his first speaking role at the age of seven in the film Crackie.
He won best actor at the 2014 Atlantic Film Festival for his performance in Cast No Shadow. He earned a recurring role in his debut television show Murdoch Mysteries.
His father is actor and writer Joel Thomas Hynes and his mother is writer and producer Sherry White. He was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, where he lived until he was 11.
2016 was a big year for him, starring in films titled Rupture, Edge of Winter, Milton's Secret, and First Round Down, the latter of which starred Dylan Bruce.
