His sister Ashlyn Casalegno is also an actor. He attended numerous acting workshops in Lewisville, Texas during his younger years. He's been in a relationship with dancer Larsen Thompson.
He was cast opposite Russell Crowe and Anthony Hopkins in the 2014 Darren Aronofsky film Noah.
