Paul Tibbets

United States Air Force Pilot who dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945. The bomb, code-named "Little Boy," decimated the city and killed 135,000 people, including civilians and American POWs.
He enrolled at the University of Cincinnati with the hope of becoming an abdominal surgeon.
His plane, the Enola Gay, dropped the first of two atomic bombs on Japan.
He married Andrea Quattrehomm following his divorce from Lucy Wingate. He had three sons named James, Gene, and Paul III Tibbets.
He was a contemporary of American astronaut, Gus Grissom.
