Revered sportscaster best known for his broadcasts of USA Volleyball and Los Angeles Lakers games. He is a former volleyball player who won a gold medal as a member of the USA Olympic volleyball team in 1984.
He is a Los Angeles native and graduated from Loyola Marymount University.
He played on the 1984 United States Olympic volleyball team with Chris Marlowe, who would eventually become his partner on future USA volleyball broadcasts.
He has two children with his wife, Maud-Ann.
He filled in for legendary Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn during Hearn's 2002 medical leave of absence and eventually became the team's full-time play-by-play man.
