Best known for his work on TV3's The Paul Henry Show (New Zealand) and Network Ten's Breakfast program (Australia), this television personality also hosted numerous radio shows and even established the Today FM 89.3 radio station.
Early in his broadcasting career, he worked for the BBC and for New Zealand's National Radio.
In 1999, he led an unsuccessful campaign for a National Party seat in New Zealand's parliament.
He was raised in Auckland, New Zealand and Bristol, England. Before divorcing, he and Rachael Hope became parents to three daughters: Bella, Sophie, and Lucy.
He made controversial on-air comments about both British singing sensation Susan Boyle and Indian politician Sheila Dikshit.
