Country and bluegrass singer who had #1 hits in the 1990s with "You Can Feel Bad" and "Lonely Too Long." She was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1998.
She and her family moved to Louisville looking for treatment for her father's Black Lung Disease. She and her brother Roger performed together after her older sister married and quit professional singing.
She went to Nashville at fourteen to show her music to Porter Wagoner.
She married Terry Lovelace in 1976 and, after their divorce in 1985, she married producer Emory Gordy Jr. on February 6, 1989.
She sang frequent duets with Vince Gill, including the 1999 "My Kind of Woman, My Kind of Man," which received a CMT Award and was nominated for a Grammy.
