After graduating from Ward-Belmont College, she taught dance for years. She went on to work for the Wayne P. Sewell Production Company.
She was on Grand Ole Opry for more than fifty years.
She married Henry Cannon on February 23, 1947.
Her husband, Henry Cannon, took over her air charter service and included clients such as Elvis Presley.
