Mike Berenstain
Novelist
Known for his children's work The Castle Book and for his continuation of his parents' their Berenstain Bears children's series, this writer and illustrator also contributed to the picture book The Day of the Dinosaur.
After training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Philadelphia College of Art, he illustrated author Sadie Rose Weilerstein's 1976 work K'tonton on an Island in the Sea.
His Berenstain Bears titles include The Berenstain Bears' Valentine Love Bug, The Berenstain Bears Get Ready for School, and The Berenstain Bears' Graduation Day.
He and his brother Leo grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as the children of Stan and Jan Berenstain.
His father, Stanley Berenstain, worked as a United States Army medical artist during the World War II years.
