The son of legendary adventure novelist Jules Verne, he oversaw the publication of his father's late novels and wrote several works of his own. Michel Verne's published works include La Destinee de Jean Morenas and A Great Transatlantic Subway.
Ignoring his father's objections to the relationship, he caused a public scandal through his sudden marriage to a well-known actress. Adding insult to injury, he quickly left his actress wife for a sixteen-year-old lover.
He may have written some of the late-career works attributed to his father.
His father, Jules Verne, wrote such classics as Journey to the Center of the Earth and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
