Michael Sarris
Politician
Republic of Cyprus-born politician and economist who served as Cyprus Minister of Finance from 2005-2008. He was responsible for reversing an economic deficit and for adopting the Euro as the official currency of Cyprus.
After graduating from the London School of Economics and Wayne State University, he worked for the World Bank.
In 2011, he was accused of sexual misconduct and investigated by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
He was born in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus.
He and Azerbaijani citizen Elman Rustamov both worked for the World Bank and its affiliates.
