Michael Naumann

German journalist and politician who held office as the Secretary of Culture from 1998 to 2001. He has worked for the popular news magazines Der Spiegel and Die Zeit.
He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Munich University in 1969.
He ran for Mayor of Hamburg in 2008 as a Social Democratic Party candidate, but was not successful.
His wife Marie Warburg is the granddaughter of Eric Warburg and the great-granddaughter of Max Warburg.
He is a member of the Social Democratic Party, which is also the case for Helmut Schmidt.
