Architect
One of The New York Five who espoused Modernist architecture; became known for his contemporary designs and public commissions.
He graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1952. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Master's degree in architecture from Harvard University.
He went on to design domestic products for Target and J.C. Penney; he was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2010.
He built couches for his apartment with his first wife, which laid the groundwork for his career designing domestic products.
His tea kettle for J.C. Penney was featured on a billboard, after which the image overtook the internet as people began to share memes asserting the tea kettle resembled Adolf Hitler.
