Maya Matievich
Pianist
Classical musician who gained acclaim while still young. She was known for her skilled rendition of Hungarian Rhapsody No. 13 by Liszt.
She was graduated from the piano department at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade in 2010.
She was the sole Serbian and Montenegrin representative at Italy's Mediterranean festival of young pianists in December 2005.
Her father was trumpeter and conductor Boris Matievich, and her mother Sanya was a pianist, soloist, and English teacher.
She was the first pianist to play Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Sonata No. 1 in the former Yugoslavia.
