He was the political caricaturist for Flemish newspaper De Standaard following World War II.
He made the 1992 Guinness Book of Records for drawing the same comic strip singlehandedly for over four decades.
He was born in Gentbrugge, which is close to Ghent.
He wrote a "Nero" story line in which the lead character gave Joseph Stalin an elixir that turned him into a pacifist.
