Most well-recognized for her self-published webcomic series Girls With Slingshots, she has also written three Adventure Time graphic novels for BOOM! Studios. She published Girls With Slingshots online in October of 2004.
She was born near San Jose, California, grew up in Frederick, Maryland, and made Shepherdstown, West Virginia her home after receiving her BFA in photography from Shepherd University (formerly Shepherd College).
She used to draw caricatures for Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, and took caricature gigs for the agencies The Nose and About Faces Entertainers. She also ran a short-lived comic strip called "Larry & Caroline" in the Hagerstown Herald-Mail Newspaper when she was still in college.
Her parents and younger brother Brent live in the Washington, DC area.
She was born on the same day and in the same year as sportscaster Jenn Brown.
