Max Steenbeck
Physicist
German physicist who invented the betatron in 1934, and worked on the Soviet atomic bomb project after World War II. He later returned to East Germany during the Cold War and continued to work in nuclear physics.
He studied chemistry and physics from 1922 to 1927 at the University of Kiel, and received a doctorate in 1929.
He has published many books including Probleme und Ergebnisse der Elektro- und Magnetohydrodynamik in 1961.
His family came from Kiel.
He is a German scientist like Albert Einstein.
