MLB catcher who made his major league debut in 2013 as a member of the Houston Astros.
He played twice for the USA national baseball team while a student-athlete at Yuba City High School. He had initially committed to play college baseball for the UCLA Bruins before being drafted in the 4th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics.
He earned two hits in his major league debut for the Houston Astros in 2013. He then spent time playing for the organization's Class AAA club Oklahoma City RedHawks during 2014 and 2015.
His father, Jim, played minor league baseball and was his coach at Yuba City High School. He has one brother, Brock, who is also a baseball player.
He has played for manager A.J. Hinch as a member of the Houston Astros organization.
