British politician who became the British Ambassador to Israel in 2011 and was the Principal Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary from 2007 until 2010 while running the office for David Miliband.
He joined the British Foreign Office in 1993 and served as Assistant Desk Officer, Security Policy Department until 1994.
He received an honorary doctorate from Ben Gurion University in December 2012.
He married Celia Leaberry in 2009 and they have a daughter, Rachel.
He was Private Secretary for Foreign Affairs to Tony Blair in 2007.
