Broadway actor who received a 1961 Tony Award for his supporting role in Big Fish, Little Fish. He also theirly narrated a 1945 CBS Radio program that celebrated the Allied victory in World War II.
He appeared in the Broadway productions of The Rivalry and Baker Street.
He joined Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre, appearing in a 1937 production of Julius Caesar.
His wife, Arlene Francis, hosted a daily interview show that aired for over twenty years on New York's WOR station.
He was a frequent guest and his wife a regular panelist on "What's My Line?," a television show hosted by Larry Blyden.
