She studied marketing at San Jose State University.
She won silver in the 57 kg at the 2010, 2011, and 2013 Pan American Judo Championships.
She grew up with her family in Oak Harbor, Washington.
She trained with MMA champ and judo Olympian Ronda Rousey as they made their way through the America judo program.
