Most their for her teenage role as Abigail Flores on the Canadian television series How to Be Indie, Yan is also known for her appearances in episodes of Connor Undercover and Wingin' It.
Shortly before being cast in How to Be Indie, she starred in her catholic school's production of Romeo and Juliet.
She appeared in a 2010 made-for-TV movie titled Made... The Movie.
She grew up in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, in a family of Vietnamese, Thai, Cambodian, Indian, and Chinese heritage.
She and Melinda Shankar were series regulars on How to Be Indie.
