In 2003, he signed with artistic manager Lolit Solis and participated in a variety program called SOP Rules.
In the first decade of the 2000s, he received two Double Platinum Record Awards for his dance music albums.
He grew up in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, Philippines. He became engaged to actress Nicole Donesa in 2020. They welcomed their first child together on January 31, 2021. He has a daughter named Ada from a previous relationship.
He and his fellow StarStruck champion, Jennylyn Mercado, were cast opposite each other in several romantic movies.
