Cyclist
Cyclo-cross, road bicycle, mountain bike and track racer who is considered by many to be one of the greatest cyclists of her generation. She is a multiple-time Olympic gold medalist as well as a multiple-time World Road Race and World Cyclocross Champion.
She participated in speed skating and inline speed skating growing up. She switched to mountain biking at age 14.
She is the first female cyclist to have held world championship titles in road, track and cyclo-cross racing.
Her older brother was also a cyclist.
She and Anna Van der Breggen are both Olympic champions in the women's individual road race.
