Credited as being the world's first openly gay prince, he has worked relentlessly to create new initiatives for members of the LGBTQ+ community of India. In 2000, he started the Lakshya Trust charity foundation, in which he has served as chairman. He also has worked as an editor of the gay male-centric magazine Fun which is based out of Rajpipla, India.
He attended the Bombay Scottish School before eventually going to school at the Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai.
He made his professional television debut as a guest star on an October 2007 episode of the The Oprah Winfrey Show.
He is an only child. In 2013, he married his current partner, DeAndre Richardson.
During a 2017 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, he appeared alongside Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Khloé Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian.
