Portuguese politician and economist who served as Minister of Economy and Innovation from 2005 to 2009. Before entering politics he spent his career in international institutions and banking.
He graduated from the Technical University of Lisbon in 1975.
He was behind Portugal becoming a leader in renewable energy.
He married to Alexandra da Fonseca.
Like TV host Joao Manzarra, he was born in Lisbon.
