Manuel Ortiz Guerrero
Poet
Paraguayan poet and singer whose modernist works include "Loca," "Raida poty," and "La sortija." He wrote in both the Guarani and Spanish languages.
He published his first poems in the Colegio Nacional de la Capital school newspaper.
He lived much of his later life in Brazil after the political themes of his literary work resulted in his exile from his native Paraguay.
His mother, Susana Guerrero, passed away while giving birth to him, and he was raised primarily by his grandmother.
He was a friend of fellow Paraguayan poet Julio Correa .
