Manlio Argueta

A twentieth-century Salvadoran poet, critic, and novelist, he became their for his political novel One Day of Life. His other literary works include El valle de las Hamacas and Un hombre por la patria.
He began writing poetry at the age of thirteen, inspired by Pablo Neruda and Federico García Lorca.
He belonged to the Committed Generation, a literary group whose members were engaged in social and political activism.
He married Maria Argueta in 1961.
He was a contemporary of Roque Dalton.
