Mahbub Ul Haq
Economist
Economist known for his work with game theory and for establishing the Human Development Report, which attempted to connect economic growth to human development progress.
He attended Cambridge University for a BA in Economics, before receiving his doctorate from Yale and doing post-doctorate studies at Harvard.
He was the Minister of Finance in Pakistan in 1982.
He was survived by his wife Khadija Haq and his two children.
He and Mutumwa Mawere worked for the World Bank.
