American sculptor who made wax paintings and poured latex sculptures. She explored female identity and self-representation.
She earned a BFA from Newcomb College and then moved to New York in 1964.
She posed with a large dildo, wearing only a pair of sunglasses for Artforum magazine.
Her parents raised her in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Her method of pouring latex has been compared to the way Jackson Pollock painted.
