L Taylor Hansen
Non-Fiction Author
American non-fiction and science fiction author whose works include He Walked the Americas and The Fire-Trail. Her articles typically discuss subjects related to geology and anthropology.
She wrote her early science fiction works under the male pen name of L. Taylor Hansen, as women were, at the time, largely absent from the ranks of science fiction authors.
She began writing a magazine column called Scientific Mysteries in 1941.
She grew up in the American Southwest and began studying Native American culture after a childhood encounter with the Ojibwe tribe.
She and fellow American author John Varley both wrote works of science fiction.
