Canadian Senator and the fifth Lieutenant Governor of Quebec. He also represented Terrebonne in the country's House of Commons.
He studied law, but did not complete the bar exam.
He served as Senator right up until his death in 1903.
His daughter, Cécile, married Canadian politician Emmanuel Berchmans Devlin.
He attended the same college as President Bill Clinton: Georgetown University.
