Louis Paulsen

German chess master who was one of the top players in the world during the 19th century and was an early master of the game and of blindfold chess.
He began playing chess at a young age.
He is known for creating many chess strategies that are still in use today such as the Sicilian Dragon, the Sicilian Paulsen variation, French Defense Paulsen Attack and Vienna Game Paulsen variation.
He was born and raised in Germany.
His strategies and notions were an influence on Savielly Tartakower.
