Liu Shaolin
Speed Skater
Famous as a short track speed skater who led Hungary to their first ever Olympic gold at the 2018 games in the 500 meter relay. He finished in 5th place in the men's 1500 meter event at the 2018 Winter Olympics on behalf of Hungary.
He began speed skating in 2006 after predominantly swimming.
He made his Olympics debut at the 2014 Winter Olympics on behalf of Hungary. He earned a bronze medal at the 2016 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships.
His brother Shaoang is also a world-class speed skater. His father is of Chinese descent, while his mother is Hungarian. He began a relationship with British speed skater Elise Christie in 2015.
He and Kjeld Nuis competed against one another in speed skating at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
