Lenny Hambro
Saxophonist
Saxophonist and journeyman who recorded more than eighty sessions and served as manager and assistant leader of the New Glenn Miller Orchestra.
He spent much of his early life living out of his suitcase after his parents passed away and went on to perform in Gene Krupa's band and gain notoriety for other collaborative work.
He became a musical director after having a stroke, but helped revive the ball room dancing and swing movements in Atlantic City by booking musicians.
In 1960 Hambro married singer Lynn Michels and they raised two sons.
The New Glenn Miller Orchestra performed at one of John F. Kennedy's inauguration balls in 1961.
