Born Leland Wayne and professionally known as Metro Boomin, he is a record producer who produced instrumentals for hip hop artists including Ludacris, Migos, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Nicki Minaj and more.
He played bass guitar for his middle school band. At the age of 13, he began making beats on the software FruityLoops.
He dropped a mixtape in 2013 called 19 & Boomin.
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and originated out of Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up with a sister and a younger brother.
OJ Da Juiceman was the first recording artist to rap over Metro Boomin's beats.
