Southern gospel singer who first gained fame as a member of the Grammy-nominated group The Cathedrals. He went solo in 1993 and went on to release chart-topping singles like "Joy On the Other Side of Jordan."
He was born in Johnson City and began performing gospel music in 1972.
He had 39-year-old Walbert Farmer arrested for an attempting to extort him in 2003.
His brother is Roger Talley, member of the band The Hoppers.
He and George Younce sang together as members of the quartet The Cathedrals.
