Legendary outfielder who played his entire 12-year career with the Minnesota Twins, leading the team to World Series championships in 1987 and 1991. He was selected to 10 All-Star games and won the 1989 American League batting title. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001.
He worked on the assembly line for Ford Motor Company, after not receiving any scholarship offers out of Calumet High School in Chicago.
He won six Gold Glove Awards and six Silver Slugger Awards during his career. In 2001, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
He had a daughter and son, Catherine and Kirby Jr., with his ex-wife Tonya Hudson.
