Vietnamese-American actress, most known for her memorable appearance in The Joy Luck Club.
She got her start in the industry in Vietnam, after appearing in films like Hoi Chuong Thien Mu in 1957.
She was an active member of several charitable organizations and philanthropic pursuits, and co-founded the Vietnam Children's Fund with journalist Terry Anderson.
She was married to Nguyen Nang Te until 1981. The couple had three children.
She starred opposite Ming Na in The Joy Luck Club.
