Junichi Masuda

Video game designer, director, and soundtrack composer who helped create the Pokémon series.
He grew up playing the keyboard and trombone and later studied computer programming and graphics at the Japan Electronics College.
He began working for Game Freak in 1989.
He named a character in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire after his daughter Kiri.
His video game soundtrack compositional style was influenced by the work of Igor Stravinsky and other classical composers.
