Julie Payette
Astronaut
Chief Astronaut of the Canadian Space Agency from 2001 to 2007. She was a part of the STS missions 96 and 127. In 2017, she became the governor general of Canada.
She was a systems engineer for IBM and later attended the University of Toronto for graduate school.
She flew on two spaceflight missions and served as CAPCOM (Capsule Communicator) in Houston.
She married test pilot William Flynn and they had one son together.
She and Rick Husband were both aboard the STS-96 Discovery.
