Two-time NHL All-Star most their for his years with the Minnesota North Stars and New York Islanders. He lead the league in games played in 3 seasons and later became a coach in the North Stars organization.
He was born in Prior Lake, Minnesota and got his start with the junior league club of the Boston Bruins, the Niagara Falls Flyers, at age 21.
In a 1975 playoff game versus the New York Rangers, he scored a a goal 11 seconds into overtime, which was the fastest overtime goal in NHL history to that point.
He was survived by his wife Donna and 4 children. His sons Zach and Jordan have also played professional hockey.
He played with superstar center Phil Esposito on Team Canada.
