Motocross rider most their for his consecutive gold-medal winning performances for Supercross at the X Games in 2008 and 2009. He is known for his partnership with the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit team.
He began riding motocross competitively at age eight and turned professional at seventeen.
He and his father are the first father-son pair to appear in the AMA Supercross record books.
His father is former champion motocross rider Donnie Hansen.
He and Tarah Gieger, who won the first-ever women's Supercross gold medal, both competed at X Games 14 in 2008.
